We knew that moving home from the UK to buy a house was going to be difficult; we had just gotten married so our savings were lower than we had hoped, were both starting new jobs, and we had a baby on the way. When we originally approached a bank ourselves, who essentially told us “good luck” when we asked how soon we would be able to buy our home. A family member referred us to Lorraine and Gosia, who were extremely helpful from the start, and more importantly, they took us very seriously. We explained to them our situation, and that we would both be on probabtion in our new jobs, and that Carrie would also be on maternity leave at the time of drawdown. They explained to us how we could work around these difficulties, and still get us mortgage approved months before we were able to even start and application with a bank. We also had difficulties getting mortgage protection due to a complicated health history, and both Gosia and Lorraine were so gracious about working with multiple insurance companies to get us sorted without major delay. Even after drawdown, Lorraine and Gosia have remained in touch to recommend further services (such as illness benefit) and we intend to discuss longer term financial planning with them also. Thank you both again for all of your help in getting us our first home!
