Do you have an au-pair?
Thousands of families are facing a childcare crisis if they have a live in au pair who helps with childcare. Families are being warned they must now formally register with Revenue as employers if they choose to take an au pair into their home.
The move has come after last week’s landmark legal case in which an Irish family had to pay their former Spanish Au Pair almost ten thousand euro in back pay and compensation after a five month stint with them.
